We’re looking for Sales Manager professionals to join our team in Girdwood, Alaska.
What You’ll Do
As a Sales Manager you will you will be responsible for mining new business opportunities and managing existing accounts within the Alaska market. The candidate must be physically located in Alaska or willing to relocate prior to starting the position. Creating a robust funnel and developing long lasting relationships with key decision makers is paramount in your role. You will be expected to execute a sales strategy that supports the overall strategic goals of the organization.
Your responsibilities will include:
Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the organization's overall strategic goals.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, generating leads and converting them into profitable sales. Maintain a robust sales funnel to ensure a steady pipeline of business.
Account Management: Manage existing accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention. Develop long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with travel partners, corporate clients, and industry stakeholders to enhance the hotel's market presence and drive sales.
Sales Calls and Presentations: Conduct sales calls, present to potential clients, and represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and site tours to promote the hotel and generate business.
Hosted FAMs and Site Tours: Organize and execute familiarization (FAM) trips and site tours to showcase the hotel’s offerings and capabilities to potential clients and partners.
Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to adapt sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Financial Management: Monitor and achieve key financial goals and performance metrics, including revenue targets and budget adherence. Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams, as well as other departments, to ensure cohesive efforts in achieving sales objectives and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Training and Development: Continuously improve your sales skills and knowledge through training, feedback, and professional development opportunities. Share best practices with the team to foster a culture of high performance.
Guest Service Excellence: Uphold the highest standards in guest service, ensuring that all interactions with clients and partners reflect the hotel's commitment to excellence.

What We Need
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
Proven and current experience leading events, sales, or marketing teams.
5 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing, Event Management, Food & Beverage or related professional area and preferably in Hotel/Resort industry or related business; ski industry experience preferred.
Strong Analytical, planning, forecasting and budget/financial skills.
Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Programs; experience with OPERA a plus.
Strong understanding of sales with an ability to plan and execute events with attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to maintain knowledge of policies and market trends of the resort and travel industry.
Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors.
Must be based in Alaska or willing to relocate prior to start date; role is dedicated to the Alaska market

📌 Be on alert and at times, on your feet, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

📌 Physical demands: This position primarily involves standard office work, including sitting for extended periods, using a computer, and performing tasks such as typing, writing, and phone communication. Capable of occasional lifting, up to 25 pounds, as well as tasks involving bending, stooping, walking, and standing for extended periods.
📌 Work Environment: This is an onsite position based at Alyeska Resort, with potential for work-from-home days based on the needs of the business. Standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm AKST, though the role may require flexibility for travel within Alaska, as well as extended hours and weekends to accommodate peak business periods. Operating within a dynamic, fast-paced guest-centric company, you will maintain a high level of interaction with staff, guests, and stakeholders.
