We’re looking for an experienced Rental Manager to lead our rental operations in Girdwood, Alaska.

What You’ll Do

As the Rental Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of Alyeska Resort’s rental operation, ensuring our guests have access to high-quality equipment, knowledgeable employees, and an efficient rental experience. You’ll lead and develop the Rental team while managing equipment, inventory, budgets, and operational processes. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and lead a knowledgeable and guest-focused Rental team.
  • Create a positive, supportive team environment rooted in strong communication, product knowledge, and a shared passion for the mountain.
  • Ensure employees receive the training and certifications needed to safely and confidently assist guests.
  • Oversee rental equipment inventory, purchasing, documentation, and equipment rotation.
  • Develop and maintain a yearly demo fleet based on guest preferences and industry trends.
  • Maintain manufacturer binding certifications and stay current on technical developments within the ski and snowboard industry.
  • Continuously improve the rental experience by streamlining processes, developing employees, and creating an efficient and welcoming environment.
  • Develop and manage the department budget, monitor expenses, and track purchasing.
  • Use operational efficiency and guest Net Promoter Score (NPS) data to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with the Pro Shop, Guest Services, Mountain Sports School, and Mountain Operations to create a seamless experience for guests.

What We Need

  • Proven experience in rental operations management or a similar role within hospitality or outdoor recreation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment and current industry trends.
  • Ability to build a high-level guest experience culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, expense management, and financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

📌 Work a flexible schedule that may include extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak operating periods.

📌 Be on your feet for extended periods and regularly move throughout the rental operation.

📌 Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and bend, stoop, walk, push, or pull equipment as needed.
