You will lead the Maintenance Team in ensuring our high standard of Quality is always achieved, in all areas of the facility- including hot tubs, saunas, steams rooms and buildings. You will also be tasked with ensuring all mechanical systems, pools and facilities are operating in accordance with our Brand and Regulatory Standards; all while helping to exceed guest expectations by creating “picture perfect” experiences. Key Focuses                                      

  • Represent Alyeska Nordic Spa with the highest level of service excellence and be knowledgeable of facility, treatment, and retail offerings
  • Lead and be an example of quality, proper safety, and facility operations
  • Direct and lead your maintenance and pool operator department shift, ensuring daily tasks are assigned and checklists are completed
  • Monitor and maintain the physical environment, always ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • Demonstrate pride in work by creating positive energy, teamwork, excitement, and fun
  • Meet the demands of a fast-paced environment through personal empowerment, using good judgment and the ability to multi-task
  • Have complete understanding of and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Manage any incidents that may occur on shift and if necessary, escalate to a manager or supervisor
  • Communicate with all other departments and leadership within Alyeska Nordic Spa to ensure effective and efficient management of operations
  • Have complete understanding of and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Training of new team members, creating a trusting, positive work environment
  • Performing testing of water samples to monitor pool water chemistry and making adjustments to maintain the quality standards; ensure pool filtration system is in good working condition.
  • Maintain a safe and clean pool deck are, ensuring that there are no hazardous materials or objects present, the deck is organized and clear of debris and you are maintaining a regular washing schedule.
  • Updating the organization about the quality standards and safety measures to be followed at all pool sites, and ensuring strict adherence to these standards.
  • Requires ability to perform maintenance, minor repairs, pool, spa maintenance, and other basic preventative maintenance.
  • Report any maintenance issues immediately to your leader for all deficiencies you cannot fix.
  • Cleaning, clearing and maintain outdoor walkways, pathways, and green spaces. Snow/ice mitigation in winter, weeding/planting, debris removal in summer
  • Seizes every spare moment of free time to take on extra duties or perform tasks unasked that will allow you to grow in your position and add value to the guest experience.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience/Passions/Education

  • Leadership experience within the hospitality or spa industry preferred
  • Hold a current Certified Pool Operators (CPO) license
  • WHIMIS, First Aid (including CPR)
  • Must be able to lift, move and handle chemicals responsibly
  • Able to train, coach and develop team members
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, electrical services and pool operations
  • Certificate or diploma in engineering or maintenance related trades preferred
  • Good knowledge of fire and life safety processes and procedures
  • Decision making and judgment focused on safety, prevention, and a high-quality guest experience

 

 

Working Conditions:

Due to 365-day-a-year operations, this position may be required to work long shifts that include late hours, weekends, and holidays. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders. This position spends a lot of time on their feet, multitasking competing priorities, dealing with employee and guest issues and leading a culture of service excellence.
