 Housing & Employee Facilities Manager 

The Housing & Employee Facilities Manager at Alyeska Resort is responsible for ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and organization of employee housing and facilities. This role involves managing the logistics of employee transportation, overseeing the cleanliness and functionality of common areas, and ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for all staff. The Housing & Employee Facilities Manager will report to the Engineering team and will work closely with the People & Culture team and external vendors to maintain high standards of living and working conditions for our employees. 

Position Responsibilities: 

Housing Facility Management: 

  • Supervise all aspects of employee housing upkeep and maintenance. 
  • Oversee the maintenance and stock of clean and functional furniture, including mattresses and dressers. 
  • Oversee the cleaning and stock of linens and pillows. 
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure housing facilities meet required standards and address any maintenance issues promptly. 
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of housing facilities, including performing light housekeeping tasks and snow removal during winter weather conditions. 
  • Maintain a readily available inventory for quick turnover of rooms for new residents. 
  • Work with community partners for the management of off-site leases. 
  • Coordinate with the People & Culture team to clean and turn over rooms for new residents in a timely fashion. 

Common Spaces Management: 

  • Oversee the maintenance and organization of staff lounges and cafeteria areas to ensure clean, comfortable, and welcoming spaces for employees. 
  • Ensure the servicing and proper functioning of the coffee machine in the staff cafeteria. 
  • Ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of common spaces, including laundry facilities and employee outdoor space. 
  • Oversee the maintenance, cleaning, and repair of the employee gym. 

Property and Safety Management: 

  • Oversee property access, safety, and adherence to regulations, ensuring a secure and comfortable living environment for tenants. 
  • Conduct regular property walkthroughs and inspections to identify maintenance and safety issues. 
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams and vendors for property repairs, improvements, and supply management.  
  • Complete preventative maintenance on all rooms when they become empty.  
  • Effectively maintain the buildings, ensuring regular maintenance occurs and all deficiencies fixed quickly. 
  • Facilitate a proactive approach to the maintenance of the buildings (painting, plumbing, kitchenettes, grouting, vinyl flooring, screens and windows). 
  • Ensure the accessibility and compliance of housing facilities.  

Transportation Services: 

  • Manage transportation and shuttle services for employees, including vehicle maintenance, logistics, drivers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.  
  • Manage shuttle service and transportation schedule in collaboration with Employee Experience team.  
  • Coordinate employee lease vehicle programs and partnerships.  

Administration and Procurement: 

  • Assume responsibility for the budgeting and accounting aspects of housing infrastructure. 
  • Manage inventory and procurement of supplies needed for housing operations. 
  • Oversee housing utility management and contracts. 
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for property maintenance and improvements. 
  • Responsible for keeping inventory on all tools/products, communicating on what items are in need. 
  • Daily response to maintenance requests and follow up of progress. 

 

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Previous experience in property management, facilities management, or a similar role, preferably in a hospitality or resort setting. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facilities management software. 
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort in employee housing facilities. 
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance tasks and basic repairs. 
  • Clean driving record and knowledge of safe driving practices. 
  • Customer-focused attitude and commitment to enhancing the employee experience. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to dynamic business needs. 
  • Knowledge of housing regulations and best practices.

Compensation: Starting annual salary of $70,000. Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Physical demands: This is a dynamic position that combines office work with hands-on responsibilities related to employee housing support. This includes frequent lifting, up to 50 pounds, and a willingness to assist with light repairs and maintenance tasks in the employee housing facilities. Bending, stooping, walking, and standing for extended periods are essential components of this role. 
  • Work Environment: This role occasionally involves extended hours and weekends to accommodate peak business periods. Operating within a dynamic, fast-paced guest-centric setting, you will maintain a high level of interaction with staff, employees residing in housing, and various stakeholders.
