Chef De Partie  

As a Chef De Partie at Alyeska Resort, you will support our culinary team, inspiring and leading your fellow cooks to provide exceptional food experiences. Your responsibilities include instructing and supervising the preparation and presentation of food, motivating your team, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene standards, and managing costs and resources. Position Responsibilities  

  • Motivate and lead the culinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, open communication, and teamwork. 
  • Instruct and supervise cooks in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food. 
  • Prepare and cook complete meals, specialty dishes, and decorative food displays. 
  • Assist in implementing new menus and standardizing food production. 
  • Enforce strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen, following safety rules. 
  • Monitor portion control and waste to help maintain profitability. 
  • Ensure food production, preparation, and presentation meet the highest quality standards. 
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as necessary. 
  • Follow food preservation standards and safe handling procedures. 
  • Work flexible shifts as required. 
  • Assess production methods for menu items and communicate recommendations to the Sous Chef. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to “coach” a team. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Four plus years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Preferably, possess a culinary apprenticeship or formal culinary training. 
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as menus, recipes, safety guidelines, operating manuals, and procedure instructions. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members. 
  • Must have or obtain a ServSafe certification during the introductory period.

  • Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cold/heat, wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
