GVT Driver

We are currently looking for Full-Time Drivers to join the Glacier Valley Transit team in beautiful Girdwood, Alaska!

What You'll Do 

• Drives bus over an assigned route. 
• Checks bus operating systems to ensure operating safety and for maintaining a good rapport with the passengers served. 
• Examines bus to insure its proper mechanical operation, including review of all safety features. 
• Reports any dangerous conditions that could jeopardize the safety of the passenger or other members of the public. 
• Collects bus fares and answers passengers' questions in a professional and congenial manner. 
• Maintains contact with the Operations Manager and reports current position and conditions affecting the operation of the route as required.

What We Need 

• Must be age 21 or older with a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.  
• Must submit to and pass a DOT physical at employer’s expense. 
• Position is subject to FTA pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
• Physical demands: The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
