Sales & Event Administrator 

As Sales and Events Administrator for Alyeska Resort, in Girdwood, AK you will be the first point of contact for the Sales & Events office.  You will be responsible for responding to and qualifying all incoming leads through various channels and assigning to the appropriate sales manager for follow-up. You will provide on-site support for activities such as site inspections, event management, organizing FAM tours, tour groups and general office administration.  You must have superior communication skills and the ability to build rapport with all operating departments throughout the hotel. Attending and reporting on all communication meetings inclusive of both Resume and BEO will be crucial.  Other duties will include; responding to special requests, preparing and executing amenities, managing day use bookings and internal meetings. 

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and self-managed, but thrive in a collaborative environment. No two days in this position will ever be the same.  We are looking for an individual who is adaptable, maintains composure, thrives under pressure and has exemplary time management skills with the ability to prioritize. This role occasionally involves extended hours and weekends to accommodate peak business periods and deadlines 

Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in hotel operations.  Working knowledge of OPERA, Ideas and Microsoft Office will be considered an asset. Skills/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, or hospitality; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • 1-3 years of hotel sales and resort operations experience strongly preferred 
  • Experience with Opera Sales and Catering and PMS systems preferred 
  • Microsoft Office computer literacy required 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize 
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to delegate and handle multiple priorities 
  • Self-Motivated and results oriented 
  • Team player to assist with obtaining new business 
  • Ability to work some weekends and holidays 
  • Must have valid US Driver’s License
