Job Title – Vehicle Maintenance Tech II

Position Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, design, modify and complete failure analysis on fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Repair and maintain the fleet of Alyeska Resort vehicles and equipment
  • Assist other Techs on maintenance and repair projects
  • Ensures work orders are completed in a timely manner and accurately record all work performed
  • Attends weekly staff and safety meetings
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the shop area in order to provide a safe work environment
  • Will be respectful of all employees and guests of Alyeska Resort.
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Alaska Driver’s License
  • CDL/Medical Examiners Certification
  • Two to Five years of experience in the Vehicle Maintenance field
  • Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics, hydrostatic drive systems, electrical, electrical over hydraulics, gas & diesel engine systems, computerized engine control systems, drive train, chassis, body repair, basic welding, fuel systems, and air systems
  • Proficiency in use of tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues and order parts independently
  • Reading comprehension sufficient for effective use of technical manuals and diagrams
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to operate all vehicles in the fleet to evaluate performance of equipment and repairs
  • Provide consistent quality work with good documentation
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member

  • Physical demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 60 pounds.  The employee must be able to operate hand and foot controls on vehicles.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job. 

 

  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.  The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Physical terrain in the work environment can be uneven with poor traction; there is ice and snow outside, and wet floors indoors.
