Laundry Attendant

This position is responsible for the overall operation of the laundry facility and to assure there is an adequate supply of linen is available to meet the supply demand of the hotel; maintain the linen inventory by keeping the discards to a minimum.  

Housekeeping & Laundry employees receive free transportation from Anchorage on a shuttle service that departs at 7:30 AM from the Midtown Mall. The shuttle departs Alyeska Resort at 5:00 PM to return to the Midtown Mall.

Position responsibilities:

• Separate used linens.
• Load and unload laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, folders.
• Process guest rooms linen, restaurant linen, and employee uniforms.
• May require assisting in stripping bed linens.
• Maintain laundry production records.
• Report and store lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various types of laundry equipment , such as washers, dryers, and folders.
• Able to operate press and steam tunnel.
• Experience in using and changing chemical cleaning agents effectively and safely.
• Wear proper protective gear.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience: 

• Previous laundry experience preferred.
• Basic ability to comprehend English or Spanish, to be able to communicate and read labels for product safety and emergency instructions.
• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents, stain removal, and operation of various types of laundry equipment, such as washers, dryers, and folders. Experience using chemical cleaning agents effectively and safely.
