Tasks & Responsibilites

• Participate in assigned food preparation in accordance with standards of quality, quantity control, taste and presentation; responding to incoming orders.
• Preparing a variety of wholesome and delicious dishes inspired by our wellness menu, ensuring exceptional taste and presentation.
• Collaborating with the Culinary Bistro Lead to develop seasonal menus, incorporating locally sourced and sustainable ingredients.
• Checks refrigerators to prevent contamination and waste.
• Coordinating kitchen activities during busy service hours, maintaining efficiency and excellence in execution.
• Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Assisting with inventory management, ordering, and receiving of ingredients to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• Contributing to a positive team environment, fostering teamwork, and maintaining open communication with fellow kitchen staff.

Education & Experience

• Proven experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably in a restaurant or spa setting.
• Passion for cooking and an understanding of its principles, flavors, and techniques.
• Strong culinary skills and a dedication to delivering outstanding taste, texture, and presentation.
• Ability to work harmoniously in a fast-paced spa environment, preserving a sense of tranquillity and mindfulness.
• Understanding of food safety standards and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
• Flexibility in work hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate our guests' needs.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cold/heat, wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.  

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell.  Must have manual dexterity/grasp of hand to use kitchen equipment.  The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with a hand truck.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job.
