GVT Bus Driver

Main Duties:

  • Drives bus over an assigned routes.
  • Checks bus operating systems to ensure operating safety and for maintaining a good rapport with the passengers served.
  • Examines bus to insure its proper mechanical operation, including review of all safety features.
  • Reports any dangerous conditions that could jeopardize the safety of the passenger or other members of the public.
  • Collects bus fares and answers passengers' questions in a professional and congenial manner.
  • Maintains contact with the Operations Manager and reports current position and conditions affecting the operation of the route as required.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Must be age 21 or older with a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record. 
  • Must submit to and pass a DOT physical at employer’s expense.
  • Position is subject to FTA pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.

  • Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
