Reservations Agent

Handles all requests for guest room reservations, changes, and cancellations in accordance with established standards, and responds to and provides information on hotel services, local attractions, and travel directions.

Position Responsibilities

  • Respond to reservations inquires through all distribution channels – telephone, email, internet, fax and mail – according to standard operating procedures and policy
  • Ensure all reservations, cancellations, changes, and refunds are entered correctly in the Property Management System
  • Contribute to up-selling the hotel while booking reservations
  • Provide information about the Resort, hotel, room rates, special packages and events, and the local area
  • Develop strong knowledge of Resort activities, the Girdwood Valley and surrounding areas
  • Monitor and respond to Reservations Email
  • Monitor and download new reservations from on-line channels
  • Send confirmation notices, brochures, activity guides and other materials to prospective guests
  • Assist Group Reservations on entry of Group and Wholesale reservations as requested
  • Cross train to learn other front office functions
  • Respond to guest service and informational requests from other departments
  • Print and distribute daily arrival reports, and group delegate reports, as requested
  • Be able to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
  • Effectively listen and respond to the nature of guest inquiries and concerns, demonstrating empathy, patience, tact, and diplomacy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Previous experience in a hotel front office environment preferred
  • Professional, friendly, and clear telephone etiquette
  • High level of English literacy and comprehension
  • Computer proficiency with email and spreadsheets
  • Strong attention to details
