We are hiring for the role of Spa Night Cleaner.  This full-time opportunity is based out of the brand new Alyeska Nordic Spa in Girdwood, Alaska, and offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.

Achieving Excellence:

As a Spa Night Cleaner, you are authorized to exceed guest expectations by creating "picture perfect" guest experiences throughout the Spa public space areas each and every shift. From the deep cleaning of the retail and reception areas, treatment rooms, spa locker rooms and all other guest spaces, you play a pivotal role in creating a quality first impression for our guests. Qualifications:

  • Delivering "picture perfect" guest areas and facilities; ensuring these areas are up to cleanliness standards and quality by cleaning designated areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
  • Inspecting the condition of the guest areas such as furniture, fixtures, floors, and window treatments is an important part of the job; fix what you can (like a light bulb) then document and report immediately all deficiencies you cannot fix.
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as requested.
  • Ensure that locker rooms, restrooms, treatment rooms and any other essential areas in the spa are stocked with necessary products at all times such hand soap, towels, etc.
  • Protects self, co-workers and guests against safety hazards; reporting immediately to the supervisor on duty.
  • Seizes every spare moment of free time to take on extra duties or perform tasks unasked that will allow you to grow in your position and add value to the guest experience.

Education & Experience:

  • Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift, move, and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly
  • Passion for Guest Service and Health and Wellness
  • Attention to Detail and pride in a quality job done well

Working Conditions:

This position works a night shift through the week, including weekends. This position works after hours and frequently has periods of working alone or in isolation with little interaction with other employees, guests and other stakeholders.  Working outdoors in a variety of Mountain weather conditions, with average temperature ranges of -30 C / -22 F to +30 C / +86 F.

Physical Demands: 

The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Visual ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to areas such as employee performance, grooming, training and policy adherence. Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job.
