Bell Person

Responsible for Serving Resort guests by performing the following duties.

Main Duties:

  • Escort incoming hotel guests to rooms, assists with hand luggage, and offer information pertaining to available services and facilities of Resort, local points of interest, and events.
  • Park guest vehicles in Valet lot.
  • Explain features of room such as operation of television, safe, locks, and how to place telephone calls.
  • Transfer guest luggage, trunks, packages, and other baggage to guest room or loading area.
  • Arrange for outgoing freight, express or mail shipments, computes charges, tags article, and records information, such as addressee, addressor, carrier, and charges, on specified forms.
  • Supply guests with travel information such as transportation rates, routes, and schedules.
  • Greet arriving and departing guests and answer inquiries or direct to proper person.
  • Arrange for cleaning, laundering, and repair of guests' clothing and other items.
  • Compute charge slips for services rendered guests and forwards slips to bookkeeping department.
  • Inspect guest room to ensure furnishings are in order and supplies are adequate.
  • Deliver messages and run errands; deliver packages, suitcases, and trunks.
  • Keep record of calls for service.
  • Tidies lobby and bell stand.
  • Set up display tables, racks, or shelves and assist in unpacking and arranging public area displays.
  • Assist other departments as needed, including delivering room service orders.
  • Maintain necessary files for Bell Captain and perform light clerical duties.
  • Perform related services as requested by guest or Bell Captain.

Skills/Requirements:  Ability to communicate with all ages of guests, along with all levels of colleagues and leadership. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training. Prior experience in hotel or tourism industry preferred. Clean driving record required.  A successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
