We are hiring for the role of Lead Licenced Massage Therapist (LMT). This full-time leadership opportunity is based out of the brand new Alyeska Nordic Spa in Girdwood, Alaska, and offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.

Achieving Excellence:

As the Lead RMT/LMT, you will be responsible for providing our guests with therapeutic and personalized massage experiences that enhance their state of wellness and relaxation. You will be the champion of wellness using massage therapy as a true benefit for both one's mind and body. You will achieve excellence by leading and teaching your people to make every experience meaningful and uphold the highest standards in the profession and guest service while delivering against key financial goals and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Understands that as a leader, their appearance and professionalism are always on display. Understands that they and their people are seen as a reflection of the organization.
  • Has the technical job skills required to maintain organizational and professional standards in their area of work. Is able to train their people on all of the technical skills required to be successful in their roles, ensuring their work and the work of their people is of sufficient quality to consistently make a great first impression.                             
  • Is present in the department; assessing the performance of their people, procedures, in real time against standard operating procedures. Understands that they are personally an essential piece in their area(s); assesses multiple demands and competing priorities, and identifies necessary resources to handle critical work demand.       
  • Provides therapeutic massage and bodywork tailored to guest needs.
  • Maintains professional product inventory for in treatment use.
  • Effectively plan, check, and manage the massage therapist team schedule via Spa Software throughout the day to maximize availability of treatments.
  • Provides ongoing training and feedback to all employees throughout the employee life cycle.
  • Regularly check schedule for new bookings and any changes in appointments.
  • Assign side tasks and completion of such for the massage therapist team.
  • Diligent in ensuring massage therapists are following all professional standards and internal SOP's at all times.
  • Regularly check commission report and update Spa Operations Administrator and Spa GM of any corrections needed.
  • Handle guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously and relay to appropriate department. Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff, guests, equipment, or facilities requiring attention.

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate from accredited School of massage
  • Registered and in good standing as a massage therapist in the state of Alaska
  • Minimum of one-year work experience as a Registered Massage Therapist
  • Previous massage team leadership or supervisory experience

Working Conditions:

This position may work long days and/or weekends to meet periodic upturn in business demands or meet deadlines. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with employees, guests and other stakeholders.  Working outdoors in a variety of Mountain weather conditions, with average temperature ranges of -22f to 86f

Physical Demands: 

The employee is regularly required to be on their feet, reaching with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Visual ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to areas such as employee performance, grooming, training and policy adherence. Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job.
