Sales Manager

This role is based at the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, and offers an excellent compensation and benefits package. Starting salary range is between $65,000 to $75,000.

As Sales Manager for Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska you will be responsible for mining new business opportunities and managing existing accounts for the hotel.  Creating a robust funnel and developing long lasting relationships with key decision makers is paramount in your role. You will be expected to execute a sales strategy that supports the overall strategic goals of the organization. Considerable emphasis will be put on mining accounts, hosted FAMS, Site Tours and Tradeshow representation. Building relationships with Travel Partners will be key to your success.  The role requires resourcefulness and drive; a natural influencer that will aid our team of high performers. You will be a champion of managing and executing the Hotel’s proactive sales efforts while making business decisions that are focused on upholding the highest standards in guest service while delivering against key financial goals and performance metrics. 

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and self-managed, but thrive in a collaborative environment. No two days in this position will ever be the same.  We are looking for an individual who is adaptable, maintains composure, thrives under pressure and has exemplary time management skills with the ability to prioritize.

Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in hotel operations.  Working knowledge of OPERA, Ideas and Microsoft Office will be considered an asset. We commit to giving you the training, tools, support and feedback required to be successful; achieving excellence is up to you.

 Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, or hospitality; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 1-3 years of hotel sales and resort operations experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Opera Sales and Catering and PMS systems preferred
  • Microsoft Office computer literacy required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to delegate and handle multiple priorities
  • Self-Motivated and results oriented
  • Team player to assist with obtaining new business
  • Ability to Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Must have valid US Driver’s License
