Executive Housekeeper

We are hiring for the role of Executive Housekeeper.  This full-time leadership opportunity is based out of the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska. Starting salary rnage is between $75,000 to $90,000 annually.

Achieving Excellence:

 The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry operations to ensure cleanliness and efficiency while maintaining the highest levels of consistent quality assurance standards and operational efficiency. You will achieve excellence by  providing strategic direction to your team and senior leaders within the organization. Qualifications:

  • Provide leadership and direction for all department staff.
  • Have an eye for detail and the ability to make decisions in demanding environment.
  • Ability to train, motivate, coach, counsel and discipline staff on resort written policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate room readiness with front office and maintenance departments for guest arrivals and service requests.
  • Prepare weekly staffing schedules and assign additional tasks as needed.
  • Conduct property inspections of all rooms, out of service, VIP and cleaned rooms to ensure quality standards is achieved.
  • Knowledge and ability to train staff to Department OSHA regulations; Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Emergency Action Plans (EAP), Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
  • Ability to create, manage and balance departmental budgets.
  • Interview, recruit, hire and train housekeeping candidates.
  • Prepare purchase orders, requisitions for supplies/contract services.
  • Prepare reports for expense and labor.
  • Maintain a monthly inventory program to ensure PAR levels are consistently met.
  • Respond to, maintain and improve the quality of rooms inspected via the Inspected Rooms Program produced weekly by the GM, DOR and RDM.
  • Maintain all KPI indexes as outlined, defined and benchmarked by hotel GM.
  • Attend meetings with other department leader’s discussion operational needs and recommendations to improve services

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum three years supervisory/managerial experience in a team work environment.
  • Minimum one year of previous clerical support experience in a corporate environment required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of multiple computer software programs including Opera, Rex, HotSOS and Ultipro preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Possession of positive and pleasant attitude toward staff and guests.
  • Strong organizational skills required.

Working Conditions:

This position is based in a hotel setting working Thursday through Monday; however, it may require some long days to meet periodic upturn in business demands or meet deadlines.

 

Physical demands:  Duties may require standing for extended periods of time with frequent reaching, sitting walking, twisting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting.  Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 100 lbs. Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test developed for this job.

 

Work Environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
